The best part about setting up your Dreamcast for Internet access is that everything you need is shipped with every console. This means there are no messy drivers to setup (unlike Windows), the web browsing and e-mail software is included so there are no long downloads, and there is very little data to input so it won't take very long to get you on the Internet.

Let's Get Started!

Put in the Web Browser disc that came with your Dreamcast. This disc contains everything you'll need to get online with your Dreamcast. You will be given an opportunity to either setup a new Internet account with AT&T WorldNet Service or your "current ISP" (that's Datacruz). Make sure you click the "Use my current ISP" button (Fig. 1) to use your Jump.Net account.

If you accidentally click the "Register for AT&T WorldNet Service" or mess up your settings and want to start over from factory settings, here's how you do it:

1) Turn off your Dreamcast
2) Unplug all controllers.
3) Plug one controller into the B port.
4) Hold down the (B) and (X) buttons on the controller and keep holding them down.
5) Turn on your Dreamcast with the Web Browser disc in the drive.
6) Wait until a screen like Figure 1 displays on your screen.
This indicates you have reset your Dreamcast.
(You can let go of the (B) and (X) buttons now.)

At any time in the process you can press the START button and the "Command Cluster" (Fig. 2) will pop up. This is your control panel for the Dreamcast.

Using the 4-way digital control (we'll call it a controller from now on) choose the "OPTIONS" button on the bottom right and then press the (A) button.

After clicking "Ok" you will see the Internet Setup screen (Fig.4). There are three sections to this screen. We'll start with the first of the three sections: "Internet Connection". Position the pointer over the "Internet Connection" button and press the (A) button on your controller.

The "Internet Connection" window will appear (Fig. 5). You should click on the first field ("Your Real Name") which will cause the virtual keyboard to appear (Fig. 5). Use the 4-way digital control to move your pointer over keys on the virtual keyboard and the (A) button on your controller to type in the information on this screen.

Figure 6 is an example of all the information typed into this form. The username and passwords will all depend on your account settings. If you have any doubt as to what your personal settings would be, feel free to call us at (219) 254-5254 for technical support. When you're finished typing in all your information, move your cursor over the "Close" button on the virtual keyboard and press the (A) button on your controller.

After the virtual keyboard disappears, move your cursor over the "Ok" button (Fig. 7) and press the (A) button on your controller to go to Dial Options (Fig. 8). Figure 8 is an example of all the information typed into this form (see info on Figure 6 in the previous paragraph).

This next step is easy! You'll notice how there is nothing to change on this screen. All you have to is move your cursor over the "Ok" button (Fig. 7) and press the (A) button on your controller. This will take you to general setup screen (Fig. 10).
