Problem #1 - How do I send a file that is on my hard drive?
This process is called sending an attachment. What you are doing is attaching a file to the email letter. To attach a file, select Message, Attach file. Eudora will show you the contents of your hard drive and allow you to pick the file that you want to attach.

Problem #2 - What is a message or a mailer daemon?
A mailer daemon is a system that keeps track of email that travels on the Internet. You will see the word daemon appear if a message gets returned to you because it could not get to the recipient. The daemon knows enough to send the message back to you and report to you that it could not finish sending the message. Either the email address in the To: field is misspelled, or there may be a problem with the recipient's Mail Server.

Problem #3 - I have Windows 3.x and I am getting e-mail errors.
There is a line that is added to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file that says: set tmp =c:\cadd\eudora. If this line is located after the WIN or DOSSHELL command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT, you will have to move the set tmp line further up so it is before the WIN or DOSSHELL statement.

Problem #4 - I have received an email and in the body of the message is a whole long list of gibberish!
The gibberish is most likely an attachment of some sort, encoded with a program. Normally, a binary file attachment is automatically unencoded, however if you are running an earlier version of Eudora you may need to get an external application in order to unencode the file. You can find out more information on getting a UU Decoder for Windows or Macintosh computers.
