Dear Friend,
Deacon Sarah Tracy had a simple dream to create a
safe, welcoming and comfortable place for women and children to go to during the
day. In 1990, she and a group of volunteers opened St. Margaret's House, a day
center for women and children in need.
Over the years, hundreds of women have walked through
our doors. Often they come for the first time because they are facing a crisis
or wish to address a specific need. They come back over and over again because
this is where their friends are.
Quite simply, St. Margaret's House is a community of
women helping women. Women come to help one another and to discover their inner
stregths, gifts and talents.
We hope this website will help you find that St.
Margaret's House can be a community where we can help one another with our needs
by sharing our gifts and talents.
Sincerely,
P.S. If you'd like to learn a bit more about what
makes our house so special, please watch a
streaming video using RealPlayer. Eight minutes can't say everything, but
it's our attempt to share a part of our house with you.
